Anybody who says they are collector of 1/2A and doesn't have a Holland Hornet is not a collector. These engines were top in their class and still perform very well. No plastic parts to fall apart either. They are not cheap but prices are not bad either. Plugs are available and you can even use them. I don't recomend lawn darts but nice vintage model would be dandy. Today any FF model can be made RC assist so you will not lose engine/plane. You can thank NFFS for killing Mecoa's release of Holland Hornet as Randy was going to use a wrist pin set up. Old timers screamed and balked about this and plans for H/H were put aside. I understand their reason but it stoped production on a truly nice engine.

Great article Kim! On the run so can't read the fine details, looks like they spun it to 25k not bad i'd say.

I have one of these Factory specials. Never run yet but also has two piece head and spe Airplane

cial nva. I bougfht it from long time FF oldtimer. Paid dearly for it back then but easy to see its special. This engine and a new .051 with timer tank are head of class. The rest half dozen are excellent. Good stuff.

Thanks! I'm slowly working through my stack of old mags from the Swap Meet a few weeks ago (heaven!). Still haven't come across a review of the standard engine, but will post it if it turns up.

Love this great old stuff !
