.010 and .020 mounting question

.010 and .020 mounting question
I was wondering if it is possible to horizontally mount .010 and .020 TD's with either the radial or tank mount. I don't see why not but, I have never seen one mounted anything but vertical. Has anyone been down this road?

Horizontal like a reedie.
The cylinder sticking out the side of the cowl as opposed to the top. Like Kim's baby Wulf.

You are correct my young friend. I should have used engineering terms for a smart feller like yourself!

Hehe, thanks.
I will test you theory when my .010 arrives. Or with a PeeWee.

It has been proven with a pee wee. Or any babe bee variant. I was just not sure of the smaller TD's
If you want to give it a shot go for it! I am almost out of fuel.........

I don't think that should be any problem. Just a wee bit harder to prime.

Good to know Dan. I would think it would work ok. Just wasn't sure the venturi angle would be an issue.

Re: .010 and .020 mounting question
Ron I have been able to position all the Cox motors in any attitude in the upper half of a 360 circle with no problem
I do not recommend the cylinder being in the lower half of the 360 as the fuel floods the plug, starting is a pain, and reliability sucks
I did have one plane that demanded straight down cylinder and I always had to start it upside down then fly it..PITA!
If using an external tank or a "no pressure bladder" you need to reposition the fuel tank slightly on some motors that are sensitive to the fuel level. IE. The Cylinder on a TD rotated 90 either side effectively lowers the fuel inlet on the venturi

Thanks Fred,
Really appreciate that. Glad to know it works and that you have done it.
