Re: Contra vs Counter Rotating Props
The Dehavilland Mosquito spun them in the same direction(right hand). The fix for the torque issue?,,put a big fin on it!

Only the gold tanks. The red one might, though, on a good day.

Re: Contra vs Counter Rotating Props
Phew!! someone finally got it right. Whether a twin engined aircraft has its props spinning "inwards" or "outwards" IS UTTERLY irrelevant (in this context) - they're still COUNTER rotating. Contra rotating props are concentric, as the picture above shows.WingingIt74 wrote:nitroairplane wrote:Counter is inward contra is outward.
I don't think that's right Indra...

Re: Contra vs Counter Rotating Props
I flew Dakotas and Caribous in the RAAF, both having their props (engines) spinning in the same direction. Neither aeroplane had any particular vices on 1 engine, either side - I KNOW from experience!!

Re: Contra vs Counter Rotating Props
I'd love to fly on a DC-3 aka Dakota. It's one of my favorite planes.
