WTB: .049 with Single exhaust port cylinder or engine

Aha! So hopefully an uncut or single exhaust cut .049 might be just sitting around doing nothing (?maybe?) and its owner wants it to go to a good home.

jnespappa: do you know what number cylinder you need? there are several of the "old" single exhaust port.

#1, #2, #3 and #6 (also #5 for .051). i have an extra #2, (single bypass, spi, top fin not milled for tool).
is that what you need?? p.s. there are also stepped neck and straight neck. see link below for help.

edited again 6-14-12 - jnespappa: my bad. i thought you meant one large exhaust port ON EACH side. i went back and read the entire post and referred post. i had seen the aforemention uncut cylinders on ebay last year. you might contact engine049 of the forum as he purchased some of the stock from estes when cox closed. i am not sure of exactly what hae has, but i'm sure he will answer your PM.

i have one 0f them...sort of

i mean that i have a complete engine...its a madion 15 that i have with the same piston but the sly is a dual bypass and twin exhaust as a normal madion...but instead of a ball lil end its has a gugeon pin set up like that pic

i guess i better disassemble it and take pics

what is best way to remove cly when it dosent have those tool slots on top of cly plz

on disassembly i wus wronge its only a single bypass

its hard to remove these clys without that machined flats on top of cly

ekitten2: use heavy gloves like welding gloves or a piece of leather and warm the cylinder CAREFULLY with a hairdryer, not a heatgun unless you are REALLY carefull, then the cylinder will usually come loose. also you can soak it in old fuel for a few hours to soften the hardened gunk or additives used to protect the engine.

yeah single bypass with twin exhausts but same con rod set up...only mine is a 15 not 0.49

yeah monster it may be but can anyone explane why its differant...i simply bought it off ebay like that..i dident know it was diff till i got it

If you're referring to the wrist/Gideon pin it's
Just that cox kinda caught up with the rest of
The engine world towards the end of their time
And did away with the ( lets face it guys)
Dinosaur tech ball and socket on their larger
Engines.
As for cylinder removal, one of the more prolific
UK Cox collectors recently told me his 101
Method which involves tightening the head slightly
Then applying a little heat directly to the head.
Being alloy it expands quicker the the steel
Cylinder which enables the head+cylinder to be
Removed without having to touch the cylinder.
I have to say it works.

oh okies so heating an tool use on cly head is the correct way to remove these suckers then
