I'm looking for a good running Cox .15

I would prefer an Olympic but could use a conquest, tee dee if they were available.

Any one of those you mentioned is going to cost ~$100 or more. Medallion 15 can be had for about $30 to $60 depending on condition.

Thanks for the info Jason. I'm going to be installing it on a Modelcraft Wasp Free flight. So I'm looking for the best performance that I can get from a .15. I'm not really interested in the Medallion series engines for that reason.

Thanks for both of those listings. I will definitely bid on the Sportster.
The Olympic may go too high as it is NIP, but I'll try.

The Pportster seller is not offering returns. Ask them how the compression is and if the glow head works before bidding. Glow heads for .15's can be hard to find at times. Good luck.

Anyone know if the glow plug threads on the Sportster are the same as the Tee Dee and Medallion .15 engines?

I was thinking adapter this might work for a Sportster engine as well.

Everyone feel free to bid on any of these auctions. I have a Tee Dee .09 which will work fine for my application.
It will turn a prop better than both the .15 medallion and Sportsman, maybe close to as good as the Olympic. IMHO The Olympic that is NIP should go to a collector rather than be used for flying.

The Tee Dee .09 should be more than adequate to power the Modelcraft Wasp with an 8x4 or 8x6 prop.

The prop you really want with the 09 Stoney is the 7x3.5
8x4 is a bit too big.

I'm trying to slow the RPM down some as it is going on a 60 inch wingspan free flight model that will be converted to 2 channel RC. In this application I do not want a fast plane just one that pulls it weight well. The test report here states that you can run a bit over 13,000 RPM with a 8x4 on 30% fuel. https://www.coxengineforum.com/t2264-cox-engine-tests-reviews-only

I thought that I would start there and adjust the prop size until it flies the best. Either way the .09 Tee Dee is more powerful than most of the early .15 engines, that this model was designed for. You may be right that a smaller prop and more RPM will pull it better. Here is a pic of a completed plane, this one has an electric motor.

I'll stick one one my Old Timer stoney and get a utube of it.
My labour of love this year was to get it to rise off ground with
An 049 I finally gave up after about 4 months, 6 different engine
Incarnations and Far too much money. I finally settled on the 09rc.

If u search Cox tee dee 09 Old Timer
On utube you'll see the final result and
You'll get into my utube channel where
You'll see lots of do's and don'ts with
Various cox's and you'll see the various
Stages of getting a 55 inch model to rise off
Ground. All from the sure start to throttled
To killa bees to twin engine to the 09.
Very Happy

Thanks John. Yours zooms right along with the 09 RC. It would be interesting to see if the larger prop slows it down a bit.
