Hi!

I've been back in Malaysia the last ten years or so. Not so much Combat here, though - I have to travel to Indonesia and Singapore for competitions. Haven't been flying too much control line the last 2-3 years, other than the odd competition, simply no group to fly with, but that may change. I used to fly CL at an RC field some years back but I got away from that mainly because it was a bunch of unorganized fliers (no frequency control, even) and it was an accident waiting to happen.

Most of my flying time these days is doing, strangely enough, indoor free flight rubber. Those Ikara kits are quick to build and fly nice, and there are a couple shopping malls around here where we can fly into the early AM on weekends. Plus, there's a group of us. I've broken four minutes with an Ikara Bulldog and am shooting for five.

Rusty, Hello, Jim here, I'm pretty new to this forum, but I'm on the other forum's routinely and I fly a lot of control line. You might consider a S-1 Ringmaster. It's and easy build and will fly like the dickens with a fox .35 on it. You won't have to worry about wind so much when you want to fly. The Ringmaster has a smaller airfoil and thus it likes to fly fast like you have said you like. only thing is it is prone to stalling if you don't have the control's set up right. Most of us that fly them tend to move the pushrod closer to the pivot point on the bellcrank by making a new hole. another good choice is the SIG Twister. Cheap kit and fly's well. Once you start building and flying bigger planes you will love them. I've gone backwards. I'm in a club here in Albuquerque and I learned to fly on a All American Senior with a .29 torpedo on it. Then went on to a Oriental and then a Ringmaster and a Twister. I'm just now starting to build and fiddle with 1/2A a little. There fun to build but I find them more challenging to fly. Just some thoughts....

Thanks, Jim. Welcome to CEF. My initiation to bigger planes was postponed by weather Sunday. I was invited to come out and fly one of the members' Goldberg Shoestring with a .40 on it. That was disappointing, especially when the weather cleared up shortly after the mission was scrubbed.

With their money and won't want to buy 150 quids worth of
Silencer.
I have to wait till Mr DB Meter goes home before the Peewee'd

I have witnessed some pretty impressive performances by electric planes, big ol planes too.
But that noise business just blows. Is it really bothering people? What is it they can't do during the day without the world around them being quiet as a monastery?

Nor will they be rebuilding '69 Camaros with 4-bolt 350s and Rat motors and Muncie Rock Crushers. But of course Tom Paris restored one on the holodeck on Startrek Voyager. That was my favorite Star Trek series.
