I put a Tee Dee on my Lil' Satan
This scares me a little. Should have a flight report with video tomorrow.

Mine flies very well with a Tee Dee. It finally flies more like what I always imagined a Li'l Satan should. Using the video timestamps, I did estimate about 70mph, so don't use short lines. 40' lines made for a really enjoyable flight. Your Satan may be different with that short tail though. Here's how I balanced mine:
Since I took the photo I have clipped half of one of those slugs off and it flies better.

Providing you have the TeeDee tanked correctly, your experience will be anything but dull.

Rusty, could not agree more about the Satan flying like it should now! Video is loading. Flew on 42 foot lines, added two feet for arm and came up with just over 56mph. That was 5 laps at 16.8 seconds.

Good work, JP. Sounds like you ran it pretty rich and smartly didn't put too much fuel in for the test flight.

Looking good! I managed to run my Baby Clown with a TD on bladder for about 15sec. I wasted a ton of fuel trying to start it. It was stupid fast, kind of glad I ran out of fuel so quickly. I wish I could go to 42'

That's how a stunt plane ought to fly. Looks like you made at least one good save in that flight. They'll get ahead of you in a hurry! Especially when the sun is low in the sky.
I clicked the Watch on YouYube button so I could see it fullscreen. You've come a long way in a couple of months.
Now you've got me wanting to take mine back out.
My son is graduating from college this Saturday, so my weekend is full. But maybe on the 22nd or 23rd I can get out there.

Re: I put a Tee Dee on my Lil' Satan
Ron, once you get your needle position set, the cranks will get easy. Just don't touch it after you find it, except for minor adjustments. I have the number of turns to crank each of mine written on my table so I can remember to set it before I leave the house. Then at the field, I burn off a couple of primes to get the ARO out of it and to warm it a bit. Then it fires right up without having to adjust anything. My Streak usually lands with a flood so if yours does that, there's no need no need for further priming. Just keep flipping until it finally makes a full speed burn and unclip and go. Some do that, some don't. My Streak does and my Satan doesn't. JP's sounds like my Streak does when it runs out and comes back wet.cribbs74 wrote:Looking good! Also before you pack out for the day, hook up the glow plug and make sure you burn any remaining fuel out of the crankcase before you take it home.
If I plan to fly again in a day or so, when I get back to the shop, I pump it full of alcohol, push it in and out a few times and then hold it nose down and let it blow out. Then do the same with air a few times. Hang it nose down with the tube disconnected so it can drip dry. And flush that sprinkler too. I take the venturi and NVA off and blast them in every direction with brake parts cleaner.
