Dragonfly/Medallion 049 RC Muffler
Hi Guys I have just purchased a Dragonfly RC muffler from Cox International. Fantastic sevice. However the muffler came with neither fitting insructions or operating instructions. As I want to fit it to my Medallion 049 and they are now closed untill Monday, and I've never seen one used, HELP!!!

I have a beam mount .049 Medallion, need suggestion.
I have the same throttle, muffler assembly as in this thread. Medallion .049 R/C (0.8 cm³) Manufactured in 1988-1996 (#250-1, ECJ #101) This is a beam mount version of the Medallion with the rotating, adjustable throttle muffler. Is there a suggested way to fix the throttle in the wide open setting as though it were not R/C but U/C?

Wire it open to the firewall or use a pushrod fixed inside the fuse to hold the throttle. If you can move the circlip holes towards the venturi you could wire it open by wrapping a small wire around the venturi intake to hold it open.

Re: Dragonfly/Medallion 049 RC Muffler
Depends what you're using it on Mike. Unless you're flying at a really noise sensitive site
I'd chuck that 'silencer' to one side and get a throttle ring.
Those things don't make much concession to quietness but they do strangle the power and load
the servo.
If you look at my 'Dragon Extreme' on you tube you'll see how well the Cox's run with a throttle
ring and how (comparatively) little power it looses.

PS
As I learnt using the Dragonfly tank, they work really well on an rc model.
BUT
If you intend to run it then store it for more than a couple weeks consider
opening the tank, removing the pick up tube, cleaning it, then storing it.
The tube is so thin that it deforms quickly if left in glow fuel.
