You need to affix a little hammer to it along with a sign that reads "Break in case of emergency"

It will not be removed. Will make a good conversation piece. I bet one could remove it if needed without destroying it. The carb body might be the only casualty.

The more I look at this the more I want to set it free and run it. The pour job was poorly done and the cube is more like a parallelgram. The NV is crooked which looks bad anyway.

I have looked and liquid nitrogen can freeze, hit it with a hammer and it will break open. Acetone will also dissolve the lucite.

Any suggestions?

I can't remember/don't know what type of resin that is, likely a polyester?

I do remember DIY hobby kits you could buy to do this with that were popular in the 70's, likely what this is...some kid probably did it over Christmas vacation.

I'd saw off as much excess as you could and plunk it in a jar of Acetone and let it set for several days, done!

+1 on that. That'll clean it inside and out. Even if you bust it out, it'll probably still need an acetone soak.

Definitely saw it first, this will save acetone.  Be careful, the refraction is going to mess you up while cutting, so take it slow.

Slowly melting it away. Might need more acetone. Should be done in a few days. Then fire it up. What a gooey mess.

 It only took the princess just a few seconds to remove the carbonite from Han Solo... Wink

Looking forward to seeing it run, I wonder how far into the case that stuff seeped in to.

Probably seeped into the crankcase. It will take some time to get it all cleaned out. Acetone is some nasty stuff.

Acetone won't have any ill effect at all on the metal. It'll probably eat any plastic bits though, and might effect any "O" rings.

If you get a 5 gallon bucket and a chemical pump, flowing acetone will probably eat it away quicker. Magnetic mixer would work too.
