cheap bushings for .062" music-wire
I found these in the jewelry-making aisle at Walmart. They're seamless alloy crimp tubes. I decided to measure them tonight.. The OD is approx. 2mm (.079") and the ID is .063". They are approx. 2.05mm long. I think the package was less than $2.00. I'm thinking they may work well for bushing a bell-crank/control horn for a 1/16" diameter pushrod. It isn't easy to cut tubing that small/short.
That's a #52 (.063") drill.

That's nice. Don't forget about the suggestion I made the other day. In fact I just bought a new package from omnimodels.com on eBay. Every size imaginable.

One of these is a must too:

I don't remember if mine is the 1/8" or 5/32 model.

Many times I'll use 1/16" ID tubing to bush plywood or bass wood control horns. Rather than try to cut to an exact length, I'll cut to a workable length, insert and CA the tubing in place. Usually I'll rough the tubing with 220 grit sandpaper before cutting and clean with acetone after cutting. The CA seems to stick better. Once in place and the CA has kicked off, take a flat file and file flush with the horn. You can use a slightly larger bit to chamfer the ID if you wish.roddie wrote:It isn't easy to cut tubing that small/short.

Thanks Andrew, great tip! Rusty, I have a similar assortment of small size alloy tube "cut-offs" offered by K & S. I bought two bags @ $2.98/ea. through Tower last Spring. I LOVE those benders though! I've never seen them before.
