Fuel Tank
Hello everyone. I have a fuel tank on a Babe Bee wanna bee that leaks fuel. It is set up as a diesel and with the leak it gets about 45 second run. Anyone have a tank they are willing to sell? Or can someone fix my tank?

Re: Fuel Tank
Jacob do you see any area where your tank has corroded?
It at the out lip where it seals at the backplate it could be ground a little further to get a good seal.

Re: Fuel Tank
Jacob, If you find where it is leaking we could probably get you what you need.

Re: Fuel Tank
It could be in a number of places.
1. Between the tank and crankcase - new gasket
2. Between the tank and backplate - deformed part, or use Black Permatex along the seal.
3. Under the backplate screws - use Permatex under the screw heads, and make sure they are not too long.
4. Possibly the venturi - check NV assembly etc.
Hope this helps.

Re: Fuel Tank
I think the backplate is cracked near one of the ears. I will have to check tomorrow. It smells of ether and it is dark so I cannot check.

That's gonna sound odd to people who don't know we use it in our diesel fuel.
Re: Fuel Tank
Lol. The engine is actually in a baggy beside me right now. The bag stops all of the fumes. I was considering putting some fuel in a bag, shaking it around the lighting it from a distance.
