Re: [Restored & Merged] My freshly rebuilt Black Widow
Thanks for the heads-up, Rusty. I'll try to check my Black Widows over the holidays. This could be why I had a flame-out and had to land inverted on asphalt!

I pulled the old topic out of the trash. I'm going to merge these two topics...

Being a comsumate do it yourselfer, while there were no cox rescources available I did this:
When the old solid as a rock pick up tube needed replaced I trimmed off just the portion of the tube that was necked up for the nipple. a short piece of silicon fuel line sleeved over the end of the old pick up line, put onto the nipple;done and with the righr shape I might add lol
And I havn`t had to replace 1 of those yet

Well it does... but I'll use less colorful descriptions.

Cool, that's brilliant too. I hope that wasn't my last one I chopped up to get the spring out of.Jaspur_x wrote:Being a comsumate do it yourselfer, while there were no cox rescources available I did this:

Yet another good idea, thanks Mud.
I'm filling the place with all sorts of questions tonight.

Mudhen wrote:Post edit - One solution to your problem may be this - Instead of the Cox standard length tube, try cutting a longer piece so that when installed, the curved portion will butt up directly against the face of the tank front, not the side of the tank bowl. If the length is correct, it will not necessarily be curved, but have a slight "U" shape instead. This worked pretty well for me.
Been doing that one for awhile now. I also cut the pickup end at a slight angle so the end of the tubing cant butt up against the back plate and seal off. Once I have it right, I disassemble and lay it out and cut copies/spares for other motors.
