When I got started buying Cox engines/parts on e-bay I would pay whatever it took to get an engine lot like you scored.  I once paid $400+ for around 50 mismatched bee engines and parts. A lot were junk but perfect for what I had planned to do with them.  Then you get the nice surprise like a Davis diesel crank or a few Babe Bees with 3 piece pistons.  I even found an early Bee with the countersunk screws and back plate, also with a 3pc piston.  Not to mention over a dozen "W" filament glow heads and sometimes a TD cylinder .049 or .051 ci. mounted on a Black Widow.  My best find I feel are the cylinders marked P-40. Not many were made.  So the real lure in purchasing those lots was expecting the unexpected.   A treasure hunt! I Love This Forum!  Now I get to use ugly, damaged and worn parts for my experiments without ruining perfectly good, ones.

Another Bees Nest Empty Macro setting on camera

Post  706jim Sat Jan 16, 2016 7:07 pm

Try using the "macro" setting on your camera to clean up your images. Will make all the difference in the world on those close-ups.

Sorry, I used an old camera that doesn't have macro. My new camera was purchased just for posting pictures has the macro setting. I was too lazy to get it out to use.  If clearer pics are needed I'll retake and repost. Cool
