merlin glow plug screw thread size, making testor adaptor
Hello all,
I am making an adaptor as I have tried the Testor engine and the glow plug is nackurd. So I have a merlin plug that has a Cox adaptor. I thought about making an adaptor for the Testor, I pressed out the centre which wasn't hard to do. Now I have looked at the thread on the merlin plug but I am not sure what size/pitch it is. Its an american model (I think) and I am used to metric.
So, anyone know the size/type of thread that the merlin glow plug uses?
Thanks
Simon

If the threads are the same as for standard glow engine plugs, the threads are 1/4-32.

Hello,
I have had a look at them, are they all the same? I think the ones I need are UNF or something. These are the ones (I think)
http://www.chronos.ltd.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=tap%2032%204%201&PN=Model_Engineer_Carbon_Taps___Dies_32TPI_Series%2ehtml#a1432SET
I have had a look on ebay and other places, there is a model shop that sells them for £8.15 each without postage. Those are HSS though instead of carbon.
Is there a cheaper place anyone know?
Thanks
