After a gloomy, cold, turbulent air day, the clouds broke up late in the afternoon, and the wind shifted around more to the north, eliminating the "waterfall of wind' that was breaking over the trees, and churning up the air yesterday.
Thomas had his Mosquito out making laps with Tony flying an electric delta. Tony was also test gliding the Gentle Lady Sailplane he's been restoring.
So, the S.M.A.L.L. gang logs some more flights!

Did you know Roy Orbison bought several hundred $Bucks worth of aeromodeling supplies on the day before he died? They were reportedly still in his car. He was a Large Scale RC enthusiast.
Just a tidbit for the day.

Did a little research on Wikipedia:
Orbison performed at the Front Row Theater in Highland Heights, Ohio, on December 4. Exhausted, he returned to his home in Hendersonville to rest for several days before flying again to London to film two more videos for the Traveling Wilburys. On December 6, 1988, he spent the day flying model airplanes with his sons and ate dinner at his mother's home in Hendersonville. Later that day, he died of a heart attack, at the age of 52.[106]
If you’re gonna go, go out flying airplanes with your kids!! He did have quite the career!

Kim and Tony, I have some questions for you and it is in order to learn and know:
1) S.M.A.L.L. in Spanish = small. I understand that it is small models, but could you explain what each letter means? ...
2) Within this event (S.M.A.L.L.), I see that there are models with electric motors, my question is, do other brands of glow motors like Norvel participate for example?
Thank you guys for your time ... hug

Mauricio,
While Kim and Tony are out flying and having fun, I thought I would respond to your questions. I have highlighted the acronym of SMALL in the following screenshots of the thread on RCGroups .
You can follow the links for additional information and pictures and videos of previous get togethers. I am not sure, but I think they have rules for up to .25 ci size or model to this event, so Yes I think Norvels would be welcome. I know I would love to attend, what a fun time we’d have!

1/2A Nut - Once again, thanks for your behavior/hatred toward me on yet another forum. At least you’re consistent and I’ll continue to take the high road. A veteran hating a veteran is a good look. Thanks Bro!
Re: S.M.A.L.L. 30th Anniversary - Mayflower, Arkansas (Oct. 10-13, 2019)
Saturday was a massive day of flying on Sky Tiger Field...and, as usual, it started at day-break. The winds were light through the day, and mostly from the south, then going dead-calm toward the evening.
Tony nearly froze his fingers setting up his planes for some early flights over the dew-soaked grass. He eventually thawed out (not that being frozen stopped his flying), as he launched one after another screaming 1/2A & 1/4A castor slingers.
The "Gentle Lady", gifted him by Mark, was restored with a new engine and even some checkerboard racing stripes!
The main bunch started trickling in, and eventually filled the flight line with a range of new, old, obscure, and famous model airplanes that can usually be seen in one assembly only at S.M.A.L.L.
Eris Clutton...AKA "Dr. Diesel" was our honored guest and his bud (sorry, missed writing down his name---but will edit it in here later) teamed with Steve Staples' planes in sending the aroma of model diesel fuel drifting across the pits.
There will be more details, and a stream of photos from my loaded SD cards as I sift through them.
Got to get ready now to go turn circles with some 1/2A control line planes.

It's not a bother at all, I'm complimented by your request, and yes, I do have footage of the Twin Skylark's flight, and will be posting it here as soon as I get it edited!
