Vintage O&R fuel tank

Thanks George. So the tapped holes will accommodate the engines while the other untapped holes attach to the firewall.

I have a couple of old O&R's around someplace, I will have to dig them out and see if they fit.

My GUESS is that engines with or without the beam mounts will fit. Not sure how many crankcases used the same hole spacing, nor whether the side-port spacing is the same as the front intake. My knowledge of O&R is mostly from what I've read. The only one of that size that I have owned was a front intake glow .23...many years ago. I would guess that they made more than one size tank because they made engines from .19 to .60.

Note that the tank has provisions for either an upright or inverted engine, and yes the untapped end is for radial mounting. The tank can also be beam mounted. Note that there is no venting except the small hole in the fill cap so the tank must be mounted with the fill cap up.

While not exactly relative to this post, the bolt pattern of a Fox .35 is identical to the O&R. Just an interesting tid bit of info. Duke did this so that you bought his engines which pretty much blew away the competition of the time. Good planning as he offered a 7 oz. engine, no more batteries, points etc.
