Glow Plug Norvel .074 / Turbo Head Norvel .074
Hello friends, I am interested in glow plug for Norvel .074 engine, does anyone have it available for sale?
I am also trying to contact Greg from Kamtechnik, because I know they produce Turbo Head for different engines and I would like to try one for Norvel .074, I have sent Greg a query on his website many months ago and now I just sent another query , since the first one I have no answer.
If Greg produces these Turbo Heads for Norvel .074, I'd like to get some. Thanks in advance to whoever can help me.

Re: Glow Plug Norvel .074 / Turbo Head Norvel .074
Brad, Greg lists the Cox .09/.074 turbo head. Is this what head is on your engine? I have 3 Norvel .074 engines. Two being the heli engine which I removed the large beehive looking hairdo head. Is the thread for the Cox .09 the same as the Norvel .074? I could check but I would have to dig my .09's out. The .09 isn't a engine that I ever use, I have them in a bag in the back of my cabinet somewhere. This whould be great if they fit because I have a well seasoned .074 that's r/c that I would like to use but the head is burnt out.

Unfortunately the Cox .09/.074 heads are not compatible with the Norvel .074 engines. It is only the Cox .049/.051 heads that are compatible with the Norvel .049/.061 engines.

Re: Glow Plug Norvel .074 / Turbo Head Norvel .074
Hi Brad, you know I wanted to contact Greg, but I haven't had an answer yet as I'm interested in the turbo cylinder head. Now I'm seeing if I get the ones that coxaddict indicated to me, that is, those of Norvel Turbo.
Also a few months ago I wanted to buy in MECOA the glow plugs that they manufacture for Norvel .074, but after a few days they replied that they would not manufacture them because of the high price of rhodium, so I am seeing what happens these days.
My engines are running, the Norvel .074 is another high power little gem, I just want to have the possibility that if its original glow plug stops working, I can keep using it and have fun with it.
Very good data friend, the ones you leave here.

Re: Glow Plug Norvel .074 / Turbo Head Norvel .074
While I won't dispute the cost of Rhodium, I'm finding it hard to believe that manufacturers even use it for several reasons. One being that it's toxic and another being the cost . My club member Andre flies F2D and makes his entire engine and glow plugs. I'm well aware of what the precious metals do in terms of providing a catalyst but the plugs I know he's making I believe are using nichrome wire and I can almost bet that's what Fox used as well. Other plug manufacturers are still selling plugs at a reasonable price so someone is certainly blowing smoke here. Given Mecoa's track record I wouldn't take anything they had to offer to be credible. Nelson plugs in my opinion are the best plugs made and they're still $5 a piece. Nelson plugs are the standard for most high performance engines and Henry still makes them. He told me personally that no manufacturer will EVER make a Nelson style plug cheaper than he can. Platinum, Iridium, Rhodium may have existed at one time but as all business practices, when it comes to $$$$$$$$$$ nothing matters to them aside from saving it.

Are the Norvel .074 plugs of the insert type? I have The heli motors that came without a glow plug. I was thinking of making an adapter for the standard or turbo plug but would still need the clamp.

I don't know if you ask the question, but if you mean when I wanted to buy at MECOA, that's right, they are the insert type.

Now, they answered me that they will not manufacture them, even if they did, the cost they have, leads me to think of definitely using a turbo or standard glow plug, with its corresponding adapter for each case.
