Bob, sounds like you are encountering Okinawa seasonal rain. I saw it rain steadily for 3 weeks in a row. Here, today we have temperatures approaching 100 F (unsafe for seniors) with nary a drop of rain since New Year.
Hot Past years in this high desert, we'd get at least rain every other week.

Regardless, enjoy your posts, I've learned a lot about A.C. Gilbert RTF aircraft especially your photos and your restoration techniques.

So, your posts are not in vain. Both you and @Kim, not to mention others too have shed considerable light on what is now an obscure engine and RTF aircraft series. Keep up the good work! Thumbs Up

Yes, I have thought about you the last several days.  Evening news casts are full of the wild fires burning in New Mexico.  They mention Las Vegas NM and I think a lot of people are thinking the strip is burning up.  Been there, drove through at night.  Lots of bright lights.  The Electric Horseman.  Love the sound track and Willie Nelson!

Bob, fires so far haven't affected us, although a couple days ago there was a grass fire started by an auto accident on the west side of town. Smoke drifted into town. But yes, fires are strong in other parts of the state. Sometimes the fires are naturally started by lightning strikes. However, the absence of storms and multiple incidences happening at once makes things suspect otherwise. Sometime back, a homeless person broke into a historic outdoor exhibit train caboose in Gallup, NM during winter. To keep warm, built a fire insde, which put the caboose on fire, destroying a historic relic.
