kiel kraft hurrican fuel tank ,engine mount
hi ,im new here ,i first flew my kiel kraft hurrican in the early 1970s ,at that time i couldnt afford the boxed hurrican ,so first i bought the testors mc coy 0.49 engine, then i bought every spare part of the plastic body ,it took me a while but i did get it all,i spent many days flying and crashing it while learning to master control line flying ,sometimes i was lucky enough to rope in a helper to hold on to the plane while i held the lines, many times i was alone and spinning round and round like a loony letting out lines while trying to keep the hurrican in the air ! i still have that hurrican today ,but time and crashes have taken there toll ,so ive got it out to start a re build that ive put off for some years,i was lucky enough to visit Amarang in sussex who took over kiel kraft, met a man there that had many happy memorys of the plane and said if i would be happy to wait around he would see if they had any spare parts left in stock,i returned a couple of hours later to a box of new very old and dusty old stock, unfortunely the main part i needed was the tank/engine mount,be he didnt have one,so he gave me the later cox engine/tank unit, new decals, cockpit, guns, tail plane, elevator, amd other bits and bobs, when i asked how much money i owed him ,he said theres no charge, just hope these parts help, the cox unit was from a later model so didnt fit,so im still searching for the tank/engine mount to get the plane flying or displaying !any body out there can help me finding one?i have other plastic control models, but the hurrican is the one i had the most fun with ,regards pete
