With being fair, I'll post a pic of me on my son's mini bike now... if I can get it running... He's been on me to fix it anyway.

It is actually pretty easy to get into. The front seat slides forward for more room.

Now you have a designated governor seat. That is the guy who works the throttle past the stop point for a little extra pep.

Been kicked off a few cart circles for doing just that. It was fun while it lasted. Seeing as your 14 I don't recommend you doing it though. I don't want to be responsible for you getting hurt. So forget what you just read.

Oh, you mean kicked off for bypassing the governor?

IMO it just tears up them up - not designed to run that fast.

The governor is part of the casting on this one.

Another fine Briggs feature... or not.

A little Dremel work would get rid of it.

Yeah it will shorten the lifespan some..... The are usually driven off the cam and sometimes you can just disconnect the linkage to the throttle assembly.

Cart circles= Old timey name for the cart rental tracks.

We had a spring loaded return knob mounted near the butterfly steer wheel, to bypass the governor and put the motor in "battle mode" and gain rod slinging rpms. A poor mans nitrous system, lol.

It worked for awhile, untill it did fling said connecting rod. Then we found a used sthil 090 chain saw engine. 13 hp at about 3 lbs weight. No one could catch us,,unbeatable.

We clocked our last cart at 30 MPH with a 6.5 HP Honda clone and standard centrifugal clutch.

I got it running, but it was too dark to take a pic. I'll get one this weekend though I think I need to rebuild the carb.

Being young and dumb, we had a family friend get out and pace behind us as we/I ran down a very deserted two lane country road. The single man fun cart we had ran up to 67 mph with the Stihl 090 on there. We had the next to biggest sprocket we could wedge onto the engine shaft and a smaller sprocket that what came with the cart on the axle. We kept shearing woodruff keys off of the shaft of the motor, until we made our own out of a piece of hard square file material. Then it started eating clutches, so we tamed it down a bit. We had alot of help mechanically because some of it was out of our leauge at the time. I dont know if I should thank my dads friends or hate them, very lucky to be sitting here typing this.

I can't believe the little 2 ply? fun cart tires stayed on those wheels, because once we got it up to speed , they were like cookie cutters on there and the cart was deadly twitchy.

My buddy was riding and he had a spindle bolt fall out at about 1/2 that speed and it about flung him into the ditch. He climbed out of the cart white faced and visibly shaken. Pops seen that and called a end to to the hot rod cart. Thanks dad,,really.
