Jose,

It doesn't need a receiver - it's a free flighter!

Is it finished yet? A slabby sided, slabby winged plane like this could be finished in an hour lol!

RCing this could add a little too much weight.

Please post the build.

Hi Ian, I imagine that when you say "slabby" you can say boards .. ok? or woody plane? ... well.

Wild Hair JOE (Ken Willard) Pee wee powered Descar10

Yes ... I can build faster but don´t be impatient Ian, I prefer build slow to enjoy more time.

I´m thinking to ing one channel RC, I fligh over railways, trees, river, road, there are many dangers for free flying.

HI Jose , i looked over the plans and it doesn't say how many ribs to cut and install ? I read the english version couldn't get the translator to do the spanish version so i could read . Looks like a fun little build , you going with the .035 K&B to pull the extra weight ? I Love This Forum!

Eric, I think it's as simple as on the drawings: 1 rib at wing root and 1 more at 2/3 of the wing.

José, Good luck with the build. Looking forward to see it flying!!

Hi, yes there is a simple construction system like jedelsky profiles.

One rib at root and other a 2/3 span, but I add one more at 1/3 span and I will make the root rib extra thick.

About engines I have three vintage K&B size but I think COX Pee wee has eneogh thrust for small Joe.

Wild Hair JOE (Ken Willard) Pee wee powered P1011410

However I scale up plans 10 % because I don´t like fly bullets.

By the WAY anybody want to follow me building another vintage slabby or ebenezer 1952 ( 65 years old)

That's a lovely plane you have there.  Great job with the doped colors.  Nice and bright.  It flies nice and docile with the PeeWee and oversized prop.  What size prop is that?  I've admired the Skyrida, but couldn't see when I'd get to building one.  Well done!

And, Yes! We always want to see another vintage build thread!

Hi guys, I have started project Snowman Christmas Tree  ... anybody follow me? I Love This Forum!

Wild Hair JOE (Ken Willard) Pee wee powered Img_2022

The motor plate mount is a wood circle rest that drills bigs holes

Is a lot oo fun build small models ... you can relax so much and enjoy with them  lol!

A 1952 model neede vintage colours painting ... maybe varnish and some black details.

About Skyrida I use normally 5x3" prop at Pee wee but I use 6x3" also as you can see here.

You're getting along well. What a good idea to use a hole saw for making the motor mount. That shape goes well with a Pee Wee or Babe Bee tank. I use children's puzzle parts for motor mounts. The plywood has very fine layers.

Wild Hair JOE (Ken Willard) Pee wee powered Imgp1910

I always protect the surface with a piece of Oracover against fuel ingress. Oracover when sanded can be painted in any colour you want!

Keep up the good work

Looking good Jose, I am following this Smile I am curious to see how you are going to protect the radio stuff from castor goo, as I am also interested in a simple "radio assisted" free flight model.

I also like your engine mount idea. strong, simple, and acts as ballast too.

1/16" (1,58 mm) balsa is very thin for stab and wing sheet, I use 2 mm

The 'Cheapskates' topic I was referring to is actually called 'repurposing/recycling items for hobby-use'. My bad, but I do like the sound 'cheapskate'! Very Happy Anyways, I think it would be a great share on that topic, but did not want to take your work and discovery away from you, so if you were interested in sharing it there, here is the link. Thanks again for sharing.

Kari the best way to insulate the equipment from the oil is to put it inside the fuselage 3/16" wide but for that you have to be a good surgeon Very Happy
