Friend Brad ... thank you for the inconvenience and your time, I appreciate your cooperation !!
Look, I have taken pictures of my Cox Tee Dee .010 cylinder, removing the lip it seems that nothing is altered, I even see that there is a base to make it stop and seal perfect ... I think the best thing to do then is to remove the lip and make a straight bushing ...
I wonder what is the true purpose of the original factory lip ... maybe make a perfect seal?

Thank you Mauricio Thumbs Up
I enjoy helping and sharing my findings. I have always said the easy way is to
carefully remove the footing material from the cylinder. It is very small not
as easy to handle but can be done. I carefully used my bench grinder to remove
80% of the material then carefully fine filed away the rest. It does make it so
much more easy to fabricate a typical exhaust sleeve from there.

Yes the original thin walled cylinders needed the lip, I think they just carried
over the design to the TD .010. Just have to be careful when filing the material
away. I put tape over the threads to protect them during the removal process
of the footing. Just oil the threads when you assemble the engine and everything
will seal just fine.

Are you going with a steel ring? It would be best less expansion / leaks.

It distributes the pressure from the clamping load when the cylinder is screwed in. The overlap without the flange is only ~.15mm (not including any corner breaks!) and the case would be damaged with repeated installation/removal or possibly just upon tightening. The .010 on my desk appears to have a large chamfer on the crankcase cylinder bore, I doubt this particular one would even seat if I cut the flange off the cylinder.

This TD .010 was the first successful throttled cylinder
It has over 60 flights / bench tests. Cox wrench tighten
at via the glow plug works fine. There should be no reason
to take it apart over an over to the point of digging into
the case. If so would a bit of compression may have to add
a extra head shim. Must be gentle with the wee micro .010

If you make steel rings with throttle clips folks would buy them.
Simple two steel halves split in the middle at the sleeves exhaust ports
retained by a throttle clip. As you throttle down the splits will not leak.
Or thick walled aluminum / split with clip to retain the two halves.
Best all you could dream of would be throttle carb and exhaust manifold / header.

Sir, you are right! ..
When I rearmed my engine, I changed the height of the cylinder, so I had to re-install a solution according to the situation ... thanks for your message and information Hand Shake

Friends !!! ... I have succeeded!
I will try to describe the steps so that you understand what I did ...
1) I removed the socket or lip and prepared the surface of the cylinder.
Acceleration ring Cox Tee Dee .010 - Page 2 20190321
Acceleration ring Cox Tee Dee .010 - Page 2 20190320
2) Arm the engine to test the distance of the cylinder (if it had changed), and note that it went a few tenths below.
Acceleration ring Cox Tee Dee .010 - Page 2 20190322
I thought I had ruined my engine, but, during my dreams, I came up with the following:
How about, make a straight bushing twinned with the original cylinder, that had the sufficient thickness and height so that the cylinder returns to its place, tightened said cylinder normally as if it had socket or lip ... well
3) Then make a perfectly snapped bushing in cylinder, it would be a (false cylinder wall)
4) I also made an acceleration ring, that was twinned with that hub ... I achieved it ...
Acceleration ring Cox Tee Dee .010 - Page 2 20190323

Acceleration ring Cox Tee Dee .010 - Page 2 20190324
Acceleration ring Cox Tee Dee .010 - Page 2 20190325
It was a very delicate job, a lot of passion and dedication ... I have achieved it!
Brad, I'm happy! Now it's 4 o'clock in the morning here and I went to the engine, I've seen very good results, but, I do not want to make a lot of noise ... my neighbors sleep, tomorrow God made a video to share...
A really incredible and delicate project!

Yes Mauricio it is how I felt when my 3rd TD .010 throttle sleeve finally started functioning as planed.
I did not have to make a secondary sleeve, at TDC SPI is fine. Cylinder diameter is 0.322"

Many hours spent developing a usable throttle sleeve / designing and building a plane for the day I could fly a .010 RC plane.
Here is the entire plight to flight!

1st throttle sleeve design no flange just an aluminum sleeve.

Well friends, I am very happy with the results ... I love this Cox Tee Dee .010 R / C !!
I told you what I did in the video:
Nitro: 20%
Oil: 20%
Methanol: 60%
1) I went to the engine, only with the cylinder liner, that is, without the throttle ring, that helps me to know how many laps the engine is delivering, happily delivers some 26700 rpm with gray rigid Cox propeller.
2) arm the engine with the accelerator ring and found an impeccable gear, can go from 9800 laps to 25000 and more, only that the video was not recorded, I had peaks of 26470 rpm, but that with the engine cold.
3) the throttle ring works so well that I can stop the engine if I completely close the gait outlet, that is important if one wants to lower the model and land.
I gather that, the engine can comfortably run between 9750 rpm to 26000 rpm ranges with this system.
I hope you enjoy the video, I am happy! I Love This Forum! cheers Beer Cheers

My thanks to:
Brad, Greg and Mario we all add up for this to be possible!

If you can source the 3x2 drone props they make good thrust and more speed
than stock props.

Friends ... thanks for your feedback !.
Where I live many things must be created pure imagination, because what a society has advanced in years, in others there is retrogression ... unfortunately.
I am fortunate to be able to think, to be able to express myself, to be able to create ...
I want to dedicate my happiness from here !! ... to have control of a Cox Tee Dee engine .010 ... it's really wonderful.
I leave this photo and this dedication ... Mr. Leroy Cox and his team ... has exceeded any limit that exists in the world ... simply a Genius!

Small Cox Logo  Looks good Mauricio ready to go!!!!! Thumbs Up   RC Plane

Are you going to use it in your existing .010 plane or put in in a new project?
What about a speed plane? How much does it weight as shown?

Check out the size difference to the TD .15 with throttle sleeve!
Do you have any .15's? This one as shown weighs 5.15 oz or 146g!

What a beast!  Shocked

Hello Brad! ... thanks friend ... yes, I like how it was finished, now that I have the lathe take advantage to make some slots to the aluminum bench type RR-1 haha, I like how it is.
I plan to make a new project, so as soon as I have time I will investigate and see what I can manufacture to enjoy the engine.
Yes, I have the Sportsman .15 T / C and the Medallion .15 R / C, I do not have Tee Dee R / C, but when comparing with the Medallion .15, you can see the big difference in sizes!

On the other hand, I suppose, I think, that the system that I attached here below in the photo, should not be really effective, I do not think ... but I have not seen any working on the Internet, much less personally to ensure my thinking. ..someone have it in recorded video please?

Hi Mauricio..I am following this thread and shot a video today but due to insufficient natural light in my garage the tachometer did not work well. I will repeat the test later when weather and light conditions are better.
