Will any throttle ring fit on any engine of the appropriate size? I saw this cylinder here and was wondering if and engine had to be modified for the ring to fit. How come the exhaust just doesnt slip past the ring? Is the ring two parts?

No they only fit certain cylinders not thin walled ones unless they are 2 part.

The ring consists of a solid barrel and a clip for RC connection. I have a couple. One does not cut off when it's all the way closed, the other does. Just depends on how much it's worn, what era etc.

I noticed on my Golden Bee the Cylinder is made real funky compared to my other ones. It has the big teedee style exhaust slits.

So I would have to buy the factory ground Medallion piston and use my current ring or get the assemble from cox international

Like Nitro said, certain kinds work, others do not.

Also, until your motor warms up, it will cut off. After that it will not.
