Re: Cox restorations for the week
Thanks George, Jason , Mark and the ID pic I saved , This will help since there is no real write up to tell you , I like to get as close to right as I can when selling so the customer will know . Other than the TD51 I just put up as a medallion .049 I was informed quickly thanks to another member . getback

We'll see, early next year maybe First I'll need to find a good enough stepped or thin wall cylinder to match the other as-new parts.

That would be an eye opener though, a horseshoe backplate with a taper nose crankcase. What would the most astute and discerning collector think? Perhaps an entry for the next "Cox of the Month Contest"?

Been a few week since my last update. Some you have already seen such as the Jerobee's.

Surprisingly that is the only one I have. I wish it was the metal backplate version with the KK NVA.

Re: Cox restorations for the week
why did they change?Jason_WI wrote:From what I found there are 3 different taper crankcases. The first release babe bee had narrow neck but the flair at the back near the crankcase is thinner. It's subtle but there. The flat area on the front of the crankcase is a smidge wider. Then the later narrow neck, thick neck, and finally the straight nose crankcase. The RR-1 used its own taper style as well.
