Attn: Bernie/Matt
Were there ever any Thrust Washers for the TD .09 made available? I wasn't really looking for parts during the "off season", but the last I was told was they should be available in November...?
Thanks!

Re: Cox International Wish list
Looked at TD 0.020 and 0.010 Black and Red plastic carb bodies
and other Cox parts made by MECOA. They wont ship to UK at
least from their Ebay site.
Would it be possible for Cox International to distribute MECOA
parts?
Finding 400 investors for Cox projects? I think if you whistled
round this and other forums, it might not bee too tough to
find 400 investors, or should I say 399!

I will wait for Bernie to chime in the matter as he can go into detail.
Matt I hear occasionally handles MECOA stuff so he may be able to get some for you.

Absolutely, positively not !!! This has to do with ethics in regards to Mecoa owner (Randy). Long story, published frequently and and no need to re-iterate.
By the same token, we have the 020 carb bodies in aluminum and will have the 010 and 09 versions available soon in alu as well.

What is it about these American companies that won't ship outside the US? There appears to more won't ship to Oz than will. Most things on Amazon can't be bought from here either. I thought we were supposed to be one of, if not the, closest ally to the US.jsesere wrote:PVpilot here is one of several links to 1/2 A starters

Does anyone know of any other source of 1/2A starters? Google hasn't been particularly forthcoming.

Thrust Washers?
Wow...the "wish list" thread has turned to shipping concerns and questionable ethics?
Sorry for beating a dead horse, BUT:

Re: Cox International wish list
You could take a trip to the hardware store, and see if they have anything.

Sullivan now has them in stock again. We were thinking of stocking them but the discounts they offered us were not enticing enough.

We dropped the ball on these. They were supposed to be available in November, but due to an inability finding the correct phenolic material the project was shelved. I would anticipate them being ready in stainless steel within a month.
Matt
Thrust washers...
Matt,
Thanks for the reply. I take it that a stainless washer would work the same as the phenolic material?
microflitedude: Was that "hardware store" comment for me? If so...I wish my local hardware store carried parts for Cox Tee Dee .09 engines. Why didn't I think of that?! LOL.
Seriously, I truly don't have enough experience with Cox engines to know if the Thrust Washers are a "special" item, or something that can be replaced by a common washer. I figured that a "phenolic" washer needed to be used, since that's what Cox manufactured/issued the engine with, originally. If stainless will work, that's fine by me. I did find prop screws at the local Ace Hardware...though they are Philips Head. They work.

Talkled to Alex at sullivan as the Hornets were being reintroduced/ made and he noted that to get them rolling again took quite a bit of money. Unfortunately it sounds like it doesent leave very much on the plate for retailers/online sales.
A buddy sells Strange Engineering race car parts and just to get in the door for a discount and be a dealer, it was $15K to be spent initally.

Wonder if a Queen Bee washer could be modified to work? They're phenolic, ID would have to be enlarged, but may be enough material that OD is close to TD 09??

They are $39 retail and $17.50 cost but shipping is a killer, like 4 bucks each.
Because they weigh over our 250gr Small Packet limit, shipping to USA would be $10 and to International $20, making for expensive starters.
With additional cost of packaging material (boxes and peanuts instead of bubble mailers) and the additional labour cost to pack boxes, there is not enough margin to really whet our appetite.
Re: Cox International wish list
Didnt want to ask for that Info but I thought you might put it up there. Ouch!,,thats alot of shipping money and definitely would turn people off.

I'm not sure...I have nothing to compare it to. If the the Stainless will work, I'll use that.

Lots of those on sale on eBay, new and used, on any given day. Should be no problem to buy one.
